Description
Crimping lugs are devices used for connecting cables to electrical appliances, other cables, surfaces, or mechanisms. The clamps that connect wires to an automotive battery are a common example of a crimping lug, as are the ends of battery jumper cables. Lug and crimp installation to a wire requires a specialized tool for doing it correctly.
Lugs are typically insulated with rubber or plastic (heat shrink) to prevent accidental transference of electricity to people or nearby electrical components.
Fork or U-shaped crimping lugs are used for screw terminals; closed-ring or O-type crimping lugs are used for bolt-on applications; and pin or spade lugs are used for press-on pin or blade terminals.
Lug and crimp Installation with heat shrink on any size wire. Price is per crimp. Labour only (All materials must be purchased separately at Comox Marine).
